Yahoo changed and my old aimer won't work!

If Yahoo changes significantly, your aimer may need to be upgraded to work. XAimer features auto-updating capabilities that detect the latest "engine" available and let you know if you have the latest version of XAimer.

To check if you have the latest engine version, select the menu item:

Program -> Check for Engine Updates

If XAimer says you have the latest engine installed but it still will not aim correctly, please use the Screenshot menu item to generate screenshots that can be sent to our developers.

If you have problems installing an updated engine or do not see that option in your version, you should compare your version number with the number available at www.XAimer.com. The website will always come with the latest engine installed.

I lost my serial number. How can I get it back?

You can use an automated order history form to retrieve your order history. Serial numbers will work on new versions of XAimer for up to one year.

Why does XAimer say my serial is invalid?

Most often, serial numbers are not typed in correctly. Please make sure you copy the serial number directly from the email you received and paste it into the Registration Window.

If you are certain you have entered the serial correctly, you may be receiving this error because you are not entitled to the version you are using. Updates are free for a year but your serial number will not work on versions released one year after you purchased your software.

Another common problem is that users simply use the wrong program. XAimer serial numbers always start with XA, and you should only download the program from www.XAimer.com. Please be sure you are not confusing XAimer with another copycat aimer.

Cannot Calibrate Table?

If XAimer is giving you this message and it does not function properly, it means your color depth is too low. You must be using either 24 bit or 32 bit color depth. To change your system settings, simply follow these instructions:

  • Right-Click the Desktop and select Properties.
  • Select the Tab titled Settings.
  • In the Color dropdown box, select either 24 bit or 32 bit.
  • Reboot your computer. Do not skip this step.

If your screen resolution is already at 24 bits or higher and you have rebooted your system, then there may be a problem with your aimer.

Feel free to use the Screenshot menu item to help us resolve your issue.

Why can't aimers be exact?

Aimers can only "see" the same table users see, so they can only make predictions based on estimated data. If you would like to improve the accuracy of XAimer, you can attach compressed screenshots generated through XAimer.

Note: Because the line cannot anticipate the power you will use, English is not taken into account when drawing lines.

Why are break-shots impossible to predict?

Yahoo actually uses random values when determining where many balls will go on break shots. We assume this is to make each game different.

Is there an Aimer-Detector?

It is impossible to make an Aimer Detector so anyone who claims to have one is lying. Do not be tricked. Very often, XAimer will make you seem to be too good at pool, so new players will simply say they have detected your aimer when they are simply guessing.

XAimer cannot be detected because it does not send information over the internet. In addition, nobody even knows each other's IP address in Yahoo Pool, an essential piece of information you would need to perform a scan.
